The synergistic effect and application development of lyocell fiber in home textiles
——Chen Hongxia, Senior Engineer of Jiangsu Advanced Textile Engineering Technology
The report was divided into three main sections.
Part One: Application Status and Market Opportunities of Functional Fiber Materials. Ms. Chen first introduced the current applications of functional fiber materials in the home textile industry, citing numerous related patents and technological innovations. However, she pointed out that there remains a gap between scientific achievements and their transformation into marketable products, hindering industrial application. She then analyzed consumers' growing focus on sleep quality and the positive correlation between bedding and sleep performance. The increasing demand for improved sleep quality-such as antibacterial, anti-mite, warmth retention, and cooling functionalities-presents significant market opportunities for functional fibers in home textiles.
Part Two: New Directions for Functional Fiber Home Textile Products. Ms. Chen proposed emerging trends in functional fiber home textiles, including antibacterial/antiviral properties, mite and allergy prevention, instant cooling, safety enhancement, and tactile upgrades. She emphasized the importance of user-centric approaches and integrated technological solutions to address these needs.
Part Three: Synergistic Enhancement of Lyocell Fiber to Meet Real Needs. Ms. Chen argued that lyocell fiber's synergistic effects should fulfill genuine consumer demands, such as warmth in winter, cooling in summer, softness, and safety. She illustrated this with practical examples, such as bedding incorporating mugwort extract to achieve warmth and softness.
